Has the SPIDER-MAN Reboot's Title Been Revealed?

Ever since Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures announced that they were rebooting the Spider-Man franchise and bringing the character into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we've been calling the new standalone movie coming in 2017 something like the untitled Spider-Man movie or just Spider-Man. Unfortunately the two most obvious and best titles (just Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man) were already used.

Latino-Review's Umberto Gonzalez reported on Sunday night that he's been told the working title of this new Spider-Man movie. According to Gonzalez, Spider-Man: The New Avenger will swing into theaters on July 28, 2017.

Gonzalez says that he's still trying to confirm this title, but there's precedence for something like this in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While Iron Man, Thor and a bunch of other characters all made their debut with movies that were just their names, Captain America hit the big screen in 2011 with Captain America: The First Avenger. Spider-Man: The New Avenger does a pretty good job tying the rebooted Spider-Man into the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

I'm guessing we'll get an official title for the new Spider-Man movie at the same time Marvel and Sony announce who'll be playing the character in Captain America: Civil War — which is probably soon.
