In the comics, Psylocke had telekinetic and telepathic powers. Like Archangel, Psylocke spent a period as the Horseman of Death for Apocalypse, the main villain in the upcoming X-Men movie. Between Munn and Ben Hardy's casting as Angel/Archangel, it definitely seems like Singer is building around a storyline that involves the Horsemen of Death for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Had Singer added Munn to a movie of his a few years ago, it would've been looked at as pandering to the crowd who enjoyed watching her jump in giant pies for Attack of the Show. After a brief stint on The Daily Show and a praised role on The Newsroom, Munn proved that she has real acting chops.

With many longtime X-Men movie veterans like Jennifer Lawrence and Hugh Jackman nearing the end of their time with the franchise, it's no surprise that Singer has been adding new actors like crazy to X-Men: Apocalypse. This movie represents the future of the franchise.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016. Munn joins a cast that already includes Lawrence, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Oscar Isaac, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Rose Byrne, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Hardy.
