WONDER WOMAN Director Michelle MacLaren Departs Over 'Creative Differences'
After much fanfare at the time of her hiring, director Michelle MacLaren has left Warner Bros.' Wonder Woman movie. The studio made the announcement on Monday.
"Given creative differences, Warner Bros. and Michelle MacLaren have decided not to move forward with plans to develop and direct Wonder Woman together," the studio said in a statement.
MacLaren was hired in November to bring the final piece of DC Comics' holy trinity of heroes to the big screen. The director came with high-profile experiences helming episodes of Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. The Hollywood Reporter writes that it's unclear if MacLaren's departure will affect Wonder Woman hitting its June 23, 2017, release date.
When Warner Bros. does find a new director for Wonder Woman, he or she will be working with Gal Gadot. The actress will bring Wonder Woman to the big screen in 2016's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
