IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA Creator Rob McElhenney Will Direct the MINECRAFT Movie
Is it always sunny in Minecraft? We're going to find out when It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star Rob McElhenney takes the helm of Warner Bros.' upcoming cinematic adaption of the popular videogame. Mojang announced on Tuesday that McElhenney was their pick.
While McElhenney isn't exactly known as a director, he did helm a few episodes of It's Always Sunny and has expressed interest in moving his career toward working behind the camera. McElhenney will replace Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy.
The Minecraft movie doesn't have a release date or plot synopsis yet, but you can bet Warner Bros. is hoping to score the same level of success as it did with The Lego Movie.
