Lucasfilm Didn't Approve Amy Schumer's GQ STAR WARS Photoshoot, Calls It 'Inappropriate'

The latest cover of GQ really got the Internet talking yesterday. When you put Amy Schumer in a bunch of risque and sexual poses with Star Wars characters and icons, the Internet tends to notice that kind of thing. Schumer's GQ photoshoot got many Star Wars fans asking how Lucasfilm could approve of such a thing? A woman simulating oral sex with a lightsaber isn't exactly the family friendly image Star Wars shoots for.

As suspected, Lucasfilm had nothing to do with Schumer's GQ spread. After a day of fans asking about the shoot, Lucasfilm started responding on Twitter.

"Lucasfilm and Disney did not authorize, participate in or condone the inappropriate use of our characters in this manner," the studio replied to several followers.

Not surprising. GQ's photoshoot is covered under parody, but that doesn't mean Lucasfilm has to like it. I expected the studio to speak out against Schumer's covershoot yesterday with an official statement, but I guess a bunch of tweets the next day is good enough.
