So Long, Kristen Stewart! Universal Kills 'Snow White and the Huntsman' Sequel

Here's a lesson for you, kids — if you're an actress and you've been handed a role that could potentially become your SECOND franchise, don't have an affair with the director and throw away any public goodwill that you may have had. Because with The Hollywood Reporter reporting that Universal will kill its planned sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman, that's exactly what Kristen Stewart did.
Universal has decided to shelf its planned Snow White and the Huntsman sequel and is instead focusing on a solo Huntsman movie starring Chris Hemsworth. Kristen Stewart will not be invited to return if the follow-up goes forward.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the sequel to June's Snow White, which starred Stewart, Hemsworth and Charlize Theron, is being reconceived as a spinoff movie. It's unclear whether director Rupert Sanders will return, though one source with ties to the production says he will.
The article mentions that Universal may explore a spinoff starring Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman (who has a name, but that name was never used in the movie, so does it really count?), but that project is nowhere near a certain thing.

I enjoyed Snow White and the Huntsman, finding it to be a nice surprise at the beginning of the summer movie season. I was looking forward to seeing where Stewart and director Rupert Sanders would take the story in a second installment, but now I guess we'll never know.
