Weekend Box Office Roundup (June 1-3)
1. Snow White and the Huntsman (N)
$56.26 million ($56.26 million)
Universal has to be breathing a sigh of relief with this one. Snow White and the Huntsman ends their losing streak of The Five-Year Engagement and Battleship, giving the studio something to be happy with this summer.
I'm not sure how well Snow White and the Huntsman will continue to do past this weekend. Despite some critics liking the movie, word of mouth hasn't been great, which will harm the movie's chances of remaining strong against newcomers like Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted and Prometheus next weekend.
2. Men in Black 3 (1)
$29.3 million ($112.30 million)
Men in Black 3 performed well during its second weekend, dropping less than 50 percent from its opening weekend. Not bad for a movie during a very crowded summer. I expect the Will Smith sequel to come in around $20 million, so it beat my expectations.
3. The Avengers (2)
$20.27 million ($552.74 million)
Seeing The Avengers at No. 3 is kind of weird. The film is still making more in its third weekend than most movies debut to, so we shouldn't feel sorry for The Avengers. After crossing the $500 million mark and passing The Dark Knight for No. 3 on the all-time domestic box office list this past week, it looks like the next big story for The Avengers will be how the movie's records hold up against The Dark Knight Rises in July.

4. Battleship (3)
$4.81 million ($55.12 million)
Glub glub ... There's not really much more to right about Battleship. Snow White and the Huntsman made more in its opening weekend than the Taylor Kitsch flop has made over its three-week lifespan.
5. The Dictator (4)
$4.73 million ($50.84 million)
This is it for Sacha Baron Cohen vehicles, right? The Dictator picked the wrong month (or wrong season) to come out, getting buried by more powerful movies for four straight weekends now.
Next week's predictions:
1. Snow White and the Huntsman
2. Men in Black 3
3. The Avengers
4. Battleship
5. Chernobyl Diaries
