Aaron Sorkin Is Going to Write the Steve Jobs Biopic in Just 3 Real-Time Scenes
After Steve Jobs' death last year and the publication of his biography, Sony wasted little time in snapping up the rights to Walter Isaacson's fantastic book. We discovered in May that Aaron Sorkin would be writing the screenplay for the movie based on Isaacson's book. With Sony, Sorkin and executive producer Scott Rudin reuniting, the prospect of a Jobs movie that would hit the same pop culture zeitgeist as The Social Network became an exciting possibility.
Sorkin revealed some interesting details about the screenplay he was writing today, with Business Inside reporting that the writer planned on creating a film that would be structured around three 30-minute scenes.
Sorkin's plan for the Jobs biopic could prove to be either genius or crazy. Or maybe a bit of both. The Mac, NeXT and iPod launches basically cover the birth, death and resurrection of Jobs, loading the film with a Christ-like story before Sony has even picked a director or cast an actor to play Jobs. Needless to say, there's an Oscar possibly in Sorkin's future with this one.

Aaron Sorkin, the writer of West Wing, The Social Network, The Newsroom, and many others, revealed his plan for his Steve Jobs biopic today.
Speaking at The Daily Beast's "Hero" conference he said he would structure the film around three 30 minute scenes all set right before three major product launches. The products: The Mac, NeXT, and the iPod.
The scenes will be shot in "real time," which we think means it's just going to be 30 minutes worth of time. It's not going to be two hours of time condensed into thirty minutes.
