Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve's 'Star Trek Into Darkness' Roles Revealed (Are Either One Playing Khan?)

OK, so the official answer to the question posed in this article's headline is 'no.' Thanks to a new image released by Paramount today, we know that the name of Benedict Cumberbatch's villain is John Harrison. Not Khan. Just like Marion Cottilard's character's name in The Dark Knight Rises was Miranda Tate and everyone swore that she wasn't really Talia al Ghul. I'll believe Khan isn't the primary villain in Star Trek Into Darkness when I see the movie and he isn't the villain.

Adding to the mystery of the new Star Trek film, Paramount also revealed who Alice Eve is playing, announcing that the actress will play Carol Marcus, who just so happened to be a character in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. But, no way are we getting Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness.

With the movie's first full trailer debuting this Friday with The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, you can pass the time by watching the teaser trailer that hit the Internet last week or checking out the full version of the picture featuring Zachary Quinto's Spock, Cumberbatch's John Harrison and Chris Pine's James T. Kirk after the jump.
