'1952' No More: Disney's Mystery Project from Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof and Starring George Clooney Becomes 'Tomorrowland'

After going by the title 1952 since it was first announced, Disney's mystery project, written by Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof, has a new title: Tomorrowland. The film, which Bird is also directing, has been kept under Lost-esque wraps, with only the casting of George Clooney being confirmed. Guesses at what the film was really about have ranged from a new Rocketeer movie to even being the secret codename for Star Wars: Episode VII. Well, that one is obviously wrong.

With Disney making the announcement today that 1952 had been retitled Tomorrowland, the Internet gets to recalibrate its guessing game. One of the previous guesses at what this film would be about was Walt Disney's founding of Disneyland. Tomorrowland was an original part of Disneyland when the park opened in 1955. Could Clooney be playing Disney himself?

This would be a strong guess, but the fact that Tom Hanks is already playing Disney in Saving Mr. Banks, another 2013 film from Walt Disney Studios, makes it unlikely that two of our best actors would be playing the same character for the same studio in the same year.
