TRAILER: Angelina Jolie Warns Us to Be Afraid in 'Maleficent'

The first trailer for Maleficent, Disney's origin story for the Sleeping Beauty villain, hit the Internet on Wednesday.The trailer is brief, giving only a glimpse of Angelina Jolie as the title character, focusing on Elle Fanning's Princess Aurora instead. Interesting strategy when you have Jolie as your movie's main character.

I have my worries about Maleficent. The movie's release date has been jostled around, but I think that may be due more to Pixar's current issues with The Good Dinosaur than problems with Maleficent. That said, Disney did recently bring in John Lee Hancock, the director of The Blind Side and Saving Mr. Banks, to help with reshoots.

Maleficent hits theaters on May 30, 2014. Along with Jolie and Fanning, the movie stars Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple and Miranda Richardson.
