Hugh Jackman's PAN Pushed Back to October 2015

Warner Bros.' take on the origins of Peter Pan was supposed to hit theaters in July, but the studio announced on Monday that it was pushing Pan back to the fall.

"We wanted to give Pan the space to extend its theatrical run, so taking it out of the cluttered summer season made the most sense," Warner Bros. President of Domestic Distribution Dan Fellman said in a statement. "Moving the film to the heart of the fall will allow us more time to screen the picture, enabling us to capitalize on what we anticipate will be strong word of mouth."

Hmmmm ... did Warner Bros. really move Pan out of the summer because they were looking out for the movie's best interests or did they realize that Pan should be buried at the end of the year. Despite having a cast featuring Hugh Jackman and Rooney Mara, Pan hasn't looked great. Director Joe Wright seems to thing everything is fine with Pan.

"As you might expect, the fantastical story of Peter Pan involves very complex effects and I did not want to compromise on quality in finishing the film," Wright said in a statement. "This allows me and my team the time to complete the movie and tell the story the way it should be told."

Pan will now hit theaters on Oct. 9. In addition to Jackman, Mara and Hedlund, the movie stars Garrett Hedlund, Levi Miller and Amanda Seyfried.
