Jeff Daniels Joins THE DIVERGENT SERIES: ALLEGIANT Movies
The Dude is coming to the dystopian world of Divergent. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jeff Daniels is talks to join the two-part The Divergent Series: Allegiant movies.
The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1 is set to hit theaters on March 18, 2016. The Divergent Series: Insurgent director Robert Schwentke is on board to helm the third movie in the franchise. The second part of Allegiant is scheduled to open on March 24, 2017. Lionsgate has yet to announced if Schwentke will be back to wrap up the series.
Daniels joins Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ansel Elgort and Naomi Watts among The Divergent Series: Allegiant — Part 1's cast.
Daniels will play David, the leader of the Bureau of Genetic Welfare. The agency is behind the creation of the societies that Tris was living in and the reason behind their creation is slowly revealed (mainly in Part 2) to be nefarious.
