Sela Ward Is Your New INDEPENDENCE DAY Sequel President

It looks like giving rousing speeches won't be Bill Pullman's job in Independence Day 2. The upcoming sequel will have a new leader, President Lanford, played by Sela Ward.

Deadline reported on Monday that the CSI: NY star has joined director Roland Emmerich's follow-up to his 1996 disaster flick. Ward joins Pullman, Judd Hirsch, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth and Vivica A. Fox.

Independence Day 2 opens on June 24, 2016.
