Did the Russo Brothers Secretly Leak Our First Look at the New SPIDER-MAN Costume?

While the Spider-Man costume in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was the best version of the webslinger's suit we've ever gotten on the big screen, the character's introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe will come with a new costume. It turns out the new Spider-Man costume may have already been revealed by Captain America: Civil War directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

Birth.Movies.Death. got a tip that the Russo brothers created a second Twitter account and have been tweeting "mysterious photos, close-ups and out of context imagery" from the set of Captain America: Civil War. One of those pictures just might be a close-up of the Spider-Man suit that Tom Holland will wear during his Civil War cameo.

Hmmmm, the texture of that suit definitely looks Spider-Man-eque. But the colors look wrong ... right? Spider-Man wears red and blue, not red and black. Well, let's look at what Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently said about the new Spider-Man suit.

“Well, yeah, I mean look, I was more involved in the Raimi ones, and think they did a very good job," Feige recently told Crave Online. "But that being said, we've already designed the costume, which is different than any of the ones that have come before. And yet ours is classic Spidey, as I think you’ll see."

"Classic Spidey." You see that picture at the top of this article? That's the cover of Amazing Fantasy No. 15, the very first comic book that Spider-Man appeared in. As Birth.Movies.Death. points out in its article, Spider-Man was originally drawn wearing a red and black costume. If the costume we're going to get a glimpse of in next May's Captain America: Civil War is "different than any of the ones that have come before" while still being "classic Spidey," having Holland Spidey-suit up in a costume that evokes the character's first appearance is the perfect method.

That alleged Russo brothers Twitter account has a few other images on it that could be interesting, including a sign that may read "The Sokivia Accords" (hinting at the repercussions from Avengers: Age of Ultron that one of the Ant-Man credits scenes reference) and a possible interesting take on Spider-Man's goggles.
