FIRST LOOK: Jason Sudeikis' ANGRY BIRDS Movie Character in LEGO Form

Come next spring, there's going to be a movie based on the Angry Birds mobile game in theaters. Somehow a movie studio is going to turn the pretty simple game into an animated movie starring the voice talents of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Bill Hader, Maya Rudolph, Peter Dinklage, Keegan-Michael Key, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Ike Barinholtz and Jillian Bell.

LEGO will play a huge role in the merchandising for the Angry Birds movie with plans to release several sets based on the movie. Kotaku got its hands on the first image of what we can expect from the Angry Birds LEGO theme, posting a picture of Sudeikis' Red in LEGO form on Wednesday.

It's still unclear if the Angry Bird sets will be based on actual scenes from the movie or if they'll contain some of the basic concepts of throwing a bunch of birds at a bunch of pigs from the mobile game.

Angry Birds opens on May 20, 2016. The LEGO sets based on the movie will hit stores sometime in spring 2016.
