The Avengers Come to Blows in First CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Trailer

After spending almost a decade building up the Avengers, the Marvel Cinematic Universe will tear the team apart in next year's Captain America: Civil War. The first trailer for the movie debuted during Jimmy Kimmel Live! last week.

There's always been an undercurrent of distrust between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers, with the duo almost coming to blows in the first Avengers movie. Thankfully, an attack from Loki's forces stopped that confrontation, but it looks like the Sokovia Accords will be enough to finally tear Iron Man and Captain America apart.

After the events of Avengers: Age of Ultron (you know, the part where Stark created an AI robot that wanted to destroy the planet) and apparently something bad at the beginning of Captain America: Civil War, the world has enough of a bunch of superheroes who answer to no one but themselves. When the Accords require superheroes to fall in line under government authority, Captain America goes rogue while Iron Man sides with authority.

The Civil War trailer gives us our first official look at Chadwick Boseman as the Black Panther. From what we've heard, the character will serve as the swing vote between Iron Man and Captain America, taking the place of Spider-Man, who played that role in the Civil War comic crossover series.

Captain America: Civil War opens on May 6, 2016.
