'Mad Men' Returns on April 7
Break out your tumblers and Lucky Strikes cigarettes. Mad Men will return for its sixth season on April 7, 2013. This will be the award-winning AMC drama's second-to-last season (I would call it the penultimate season, but that word has become played out over the past few years). When we last saw Don Draper and company, viewers were left wondering whether or not Don was about to return to his womanizing ways.
Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner revelead to The New York Times that the show's sixth-season premiere would be two hours long, but he wouldn't say more beyond that.
As a non-Homeland watcher (I don't have Showtime), I find myself constantly rooting for Mad Men and Breaking Bad against the current darling of the critics. With only two seasons left, I want to see Mad Men reclaim its former title of greatest show on television and go out on top.

Mr. Weiner was offering few other concrete details about the new season in a phone interview on Tuesday, not even to specify what year it will be set in. (Still, it seems safe to assume the first two digits will be 1 and 9.)
"It will advance in time, as it does," Mr. Weiner said cryptically. "I can’t say how much or how little. We’re coming off a period in Don’s life where he’s trying to normalize, and trying to have this relationship – a real relationship with this woman that he fell in love with."
