Marvel Studios Announces ANT-MAN Sequel, Shuffles Phase Three Release Dates
Ant-Man will return for a sequel in 2018 — and he's bringing the Wasp with him. Marvel Studios announced on Thursday that it's added an Ant-Man sequel titled Ant-Man and the Wasp to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Three schedule. The sequel has been slated to hit theaters on July 6, 2018.
That date previously belonged to Black Panther, which means Marvel is shuffling the Phase Three schedule again. Black Panther moves up to Feb. 16, 2018, and Captain Marvel moves back to March 8, 2019, just months before the second Avengers: Infinity War movie. The studio also announced three mystery movies for May 1, 2020, July 10, 2020, and Nov. 6, 2020.
Here's what Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe looks like now:
May 6, 2016: Captain America: Civil War
Nov. 4, 2016: Doctor Strange
May 5, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
July 28, 2017: Untitled Spider-Man film
Nov. 3, 2017: Thor: Ragnarok
Feb. 16, 2018: Black Panther
May 4, 2018: Avengers: Infinity War — Part 1
March 8, 2019: Captain Marvel
May 3, 2019: Avengers: Infinity War — Part 2
July 12, 2019: Inhumans
Then you have the three movies after Inhumans, which could start Phase Four.
May 1, 2020: Mystery movie
July 10, 2020: Mystery movie
Nov. 6, 2020: Mystery movie
