REPORT: Harrison Ford Is Returning as Han Solo for 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

OK, this is still unconfirmed by Disney/Lucasfilm, but it looks like Harrison Ford will be reprising his iconic role of Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII, according to a Latino-Review report. There have been rumors that Ford and other key members of the original Star Wars cast would return for the Sequel Trilogy, and Han Solo is apparently going to be the subject of one of the standalone Star Wars movies, so this news isn't a complete surprise.

The bigger question is what kind of role will Ford have in Episode VII. I can't see Disney/Lucasfilm basing the entire Sequel Trilogy on characters like Solo, Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia — the acting talent just isn't there anymore. If I had to guess, I would say that if Solo is in the new Star Wars movie, it'll be a smaller role, possibly even giving the character the on-screen death that Ford wanted for him back when they were working on Return of the Jedi.

There's also the chance that the wires on this news got crossed, and Ford isn't returning for Episode VII, but instead that he'll be making a cameo appearance in that Han Solo standalone Star Wars movie, possibly bookending the story while the rest of the movie sees a younger actor playing Solo.
