'SNL' PROMOS: Fred Armisen Needs to Know If Christoph Waltz Loves America

Christoph Waltz, best known for starring in Quentin Tarantino films like Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained, makes his Saturday Night Live hosting debut this weekend. Unlike a certain pop star that hosted last weekend, American audiences are used to seeing Waltz in serious roles, which makes the upcoming show all the more interesting.

In the SNL promos that NBC released on Wednesday, Fred Armisen seems to be carrying the comedic load Waltz plays the role of the straight man. Is that an omen for this Saturday's show? Do the SNL writers know how to write to Waltz's strengths or will they just turn him into scenery?

Check out Waltz's SNL promos after the jump.

  1. His promo was pretty funny, and I can’t wait to see him perform on SNL this weekend. I should be getting off of work at DISH with time to see him live. I have a DISH Hopper whole-home DVR at home, which is great because I usually start a show while I’m in the kitchen and finish in my room after making lunch for the next day. It’s great having such flexibility of starting a show in one room and finishing in any other room of my house.
