HARRY POTTER Spinoff FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM Adds Colin Farrell

Any chance Colin Farrell will bring his mustache to the world of Harry Potter? The True Detective actor has joined the cast of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Farrell joins a cast that already boasts Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler.

THR reports that Farrell will play Graves, "a wizard that Newt Scamander meets in New York." Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them takes place decades before the events of the original Harry Potter film series, with Redmayne's Newt traveling around America to document magical creatures in the New World.

Harry Potter creator JK Rowling is making her screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts. David Yates, who directed the final four Harry Potter movies, will helm the movie that Warner Bros. sees kicking off a new franchise.
