Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore Join Bryan Singer's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past'
Bryan Singer joining Twitter 91 tweets ago is probably the greatest thing that ever happened for anyone who wants to know the secrets of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The director had previously turned to Twitter to reveal that Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Hugh Jackman would join the cast of the X-Men: First Class sequel, and on Saturday, Singer tweeted that original X-Men trilogy stars Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore had also signed on.
Very excited to welcome #annapaquin, @ellenpage & @shawnrashmore to #XMen #DaysofFuturePast - thank you @BrettRatner for letting them live!
Yes, Singer even thanked Brett Ratner for not destroying the franchise anymore than he did with X-Men: The Last Stand. Rogue, Kitty Pryde and Iceman (played by Paquin, Page and Ashmore, respectively) all survived Ratner's hack job in the second X-Men sequel.
The news that Page has joined X-Men: Days of Future Past is probably the most interesting part of this news, as the Kitty Pryde character was the catalyst of the time-travel action in the Days of Future Past X-Men storyline. It's also kind of amusing to know that anyone who ever played a mutant in an X-Men movie is probably going to be back for this film ... unless you're January Jones.
