NBC Delays 'Parks and Recreation,' Continues to Be the Worst

NBC, you are why we can't have nice things. In a world of Two and a Half Men and 2 Broke Girls, you actually have a few critically acclaimed sitcoms. Parks and Recreation is one of them. And you, NBC, being the bunch of TV masterminds that you, are going to ruin it.

The network will preempt the next three episodes of Parks and Rec for a few episodes of The Voice and a Halloween-themed Saturday Night Live special. (Not a live SNL — just a collection of Halloween sketches that previously aired.) Parks and Rec will returns on Nov. 7 and Nov. 14, burning off episodes in back-to-back airings. If this sounds familiar, it's what ABC did to Happy Endings almost every chance they got. NBC is the master at this game, though.

After that, don't expect to see Parks and Rec again until 2014, as NBC has NFL games and that Carrie Underwood version of The Sound of Music to fill Thursdays, which Vulture points out.

Can we just end comedy Thursdays on NBC? That time has clearly passed. The network has no idea how to cultivate shows anymore.
