Stephen Lang Will Return for 'Avatar' Sequels Since Creating New Stereotypical Characters Is Hard Work

If you're James Cameron and you've already put a TON of hard work into creating a villain for the Avatar movies, why would you bother brainstorming a new and original villain when you can just reuse that first villain? I mean, that would be a lot of work. Character development and story planning just get in the way of flashing 3D effects.

When it comes to the high level of original storytelling that Cameron set with Avatar, it should come as no surprise that it was reported on Tuesday that Stephen Lang will reprise his role as Colonel Quaritch in the upcoming Avatar sequels. Yes, Quaritch died at the end of Avatar, but as I said before, why create a new villain when you already put all the hard work into naming one walking stereotype?

The Avatar sequels and prequel will hit theaters in December 2016, December 2017 and December 2018. Sigh ...
