Marvel Wants 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' Directors Back for Next Sequel

Captain America: The Winter Soldier doesn't hit theaters until April 4, but Marvel appears to be pretty confident in what its seen from the upcoming movie. According to Variety, Marvel is ready to bring back Joe and Anthony Russo as co-directors of Captain America 3. The brothers took the helms of Captain America: The Winter Soldier after Marvel and Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston parted ways.

Variety notes that "negotiations wouldn't begin untill after Winter Soldier bows but sources say Marvel has been so impressed with the production of the film, as well as with strong results from recent test screenings, that the studio has moved fast to attach the brothers to the next installment."

This seems to be Marvel taking the next steps to flesh out Phase Three of its Cinematic Universe. Ant-Man will kick off the phase and The Avengers 3 is obviously going to be the closer, but Marvel has been pretty hushed when it comes to which movies will be between those two. If Marvel is setting directors for Captain America 3, it's likely that it'll be a part of Phase 3. What else can we expect? Doctor Strange? Black Panther? Guardians of the Galaxy 2?
