'Gotham' Character Posters: 8 New Looks at Fox's Batman Prequel Series

While Marvel Studios has crafted one cohesive shared universe for its movies, TV shows and upcoming Netflix offerings, things over at Warner Bros. are a bit convoluted. There's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the rest of the Justice League movie slate. There's the Arrow and Flash TV shows. And coming this fall to Fox, there's the Gotham TV series.

It appears that none of those DC properties at Warner Bros. share the same universe.

Oh well. At least Gotham has been getting some pretty strong buzz, with Fox giving the show a full season pickup and adding it to the network's fall schedule.

Entertainment Weekly debuted eight character posters for Gotham on Wednesday. Some of the looks of the characters still strike me as odd — Jada Pinkett Smith's Fish Mooney, Camren Bicondova's Selina Kyle — but I'll give Gotham a chance when it airs in the fall.

Gotham stars Benjamin McKenzie as Detective James Gordon, Robin Lord Taylor as Oswald Cobblepot (the future Penguin), Smith as Fish Mooney, David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne, Cory Michael Smith as Edward Nygma (the future Riddler), Donal Logue as Detective Harvey Bullock, Bicondova as Selina Kyle (the future Catwoman) and Clare Foley as Ivy Pepper (the future Poison Ivy).

Not quite sure how all these villains existed in the same city before Batman showed up, but whatever.
