Danica Patrick and Her Husband Are Divorcing, Which Means This Is Your Shot to Ask Her Out

This probably isn't how Danica Patrick expected to be celebrating Thanksgiving. On Wednesday night, the auto racing star announcing through her Facebook page that she and her husband, Paul Hospenthal, were divorcing. The couple had been married for seven years after tying the knot in 2005.

"I am sad to inform my fans that after 7 years, Paul and I have decided to amicably end our marriage. This isn't easy for either of us, but mutually it has come to this. He has been an important person and friend in my life and that's how we will remain moving forward."

Patrick is 30, and her husband is now 47. I remember when the news broke that they had gotten married how many people thought the age gap was too much. Whether or not it was the age gap that doomed the couple, it looks like Patrick and Hospenthal just couldn't make it.

Since breaking into IndyCar almost ten years ago, Patrick has become one of auto racing's biggest stars, in addition to being one of the sport's most marketable faces. Patrick has appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue twice and is well known as the face of GoDaddy's domain services commercials. In addition to these appearances, Patrick was also featured in the music videos for Jay-Z's Show Me What You Got (which you can check out after the jump) and Miranda Lambert's Fastest Girl in Town. The driver has also cameoed on The Simpsons and CSI: NY.
