Next Bond Film Titled SPECTRE; Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Monica Bellucci Join Cast

When James Bond returns next winter, he's bringing back a part of the franchise that has been missing for decades with him: Spectre. It was revealed through the official James Bond Twitter account on Thursday that the 24th Bond film will be titled Spectre.

While Spectre (or SPECTRE, as it was stylistically written) was once a key part of the Bond mythology, the organization has been absent from the recent movies due to a legal battle over creative rights. That battle was resolved in November 2013, and it looks like the Bond producers have wasted little time weaving the organization back into the Bond movies.

In addition to Skyfall director Sam Mendes, Spectre will reunite castmembers Daniel Craig as Bond, Ralph Fiennes as M, Ben Whishaw as Q and Naomie Harris as Moneypenny, while adding Christoph Waltz as Oberhauser, Dave Bautista as Mr Hinx, Monica Bellucci as Lucia Sciarra, Andrew Scott as Denbigh and Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann.

There had been rumors that Waltz would be playing longtime SPECTRE villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, but it looks like that's not the case ... for now. Perhaps Oberhauser as another identity ...

Here's the official synopsis for Spectre: "A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organisation. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind Spectre."

Will Spectre be associated with Quantum, the secret organization behind the scenes in Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace? It had seemed like Quantum was being set up to become the new Spectre.

In addition to the title, cast and plot, we also got a the first poster for Spectre on Thursday and learned that Bond will be the driving the new Aston Martin DB10 in the film.

Spectre opens on Nov. 6, 2015.
