Bill Hader Joins BROOKLYN NINE-NINE; Archie Panjabi Posts First Pic of Her Character

There's going to be a new captain in charge when Brooklyn Nine-Nine starts its third season. Fox announced on Friday that Bill Hader has joined the show as the precinct's new captain.

Hader's captain will replace Andre Braugher's Captain Holt, who took a new job at the end of last season. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine Season 2 finale closed with Andy Samberg and the rest of the precinct watching the office's elevator doors open to reveal the new captain.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Hader will appear for an undisclosed number of episodes.

Hader isn't the only big cast addition for Brooklyn Nine-Nine's third season. We learned last week that former The Good Wife star Archie Panjabi had joined the show as a lieutenant and love interest for Joe Lo Truglio's character. Panjabi gave us our first look at her character through an Instagram post last week.

The third season of Brooklyn Nine-Nine premieres on Sept. 27.
