The 8 Best 'Saturday Night Live' Sketches This Season (So Far)

Saturday Night Live is off again this weekend, but that doesn't mean you can't enjoy the greatest moments of the Season 38. Eight episodes into this season, and we've had a mixture of hosts that were awesome and hosts that were pretty much failures. A good part of the season was dominated by the presidential election, with Jay Pharoah taking over the role of President Barack Obama and Jason Sudeikis finally nailing down how he wanted to portray Mitt Romney.

Popculturology has covered every episode of SNL so far this season, and we've shared with you the best sketches the show had to offer every week. But how about the season as a whole? Not counting the election and Weekend Update, Popculturology brings you The 8 Best SNL Sketches This Season (So Far). Check out all eight videos after the jump.

1. McDonald's Firing
I love this sketch so much. Bobby Moynihan and Cecily Strong absolutely stole the show as two McDonald's employees going off on their coworkers after they think they're going to get fired.

2. Lincoln
Louis C.K. was probably SNL's most-anticipated host this season, and the comedian didn't disappoint with this parody of the opening to Louie. Credit goes to Seth Meyers for nailing the spirit of Louie.

3. Last Call
Louis C.K.'s hosting stint earned two spots on the list thanks to his uninhibited makeout session with Kate McKinnon. I don't think SNL has seen this kind of PDA since Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch were in a hot tub together.

4. Mars Mission
Moynihan just missed his little kitty cat — why couldn't anyone else understand that?

5. Sad Mouse
After Andy Samberg left, it was unclear how SNL would replace Digital Shorts. Sad Mouse gave us look at what SNL's post-Digital Short future had in store.

6. Puppet Class
Seth MacFarlane put on a good show as host, but all attention was on Bill Hader when he played a war veteran reliving his dark days through a puppet improv class.

7. Hypnotist
While Taran Killam hasn't been Season 38's breakout star like a lot of people thought he would be, Killam stripped down and made us laugh as a man pretending to be hypnotized in this sketch.

8. Cool Drones
What better way to explain the intricacies of America's use of drones to take out our enemies than a cartoon?
