FX Moving 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' 'The League' and 'Legit' to New FXX Comedy Channel

When it comes to basic cable networks producing great, original television, there are two channels that immediately come to mind. AMC, thanks to Mad Men, Breaking Bad and Walking Dead, and FX, with Justified, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Louie and The League. FX is about to mix things up a bit, announcing that it will spin many of its comedies off into FXX, a new channel that will aim to capture the 18-34 demo.

FXX will launch on Sept. 2, replacing Fox Soccer on cable boxes. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League, Legit and Totally Biased with Kamau Bell will move from FX to FXX. Even though the new channel is supposed to be comedy-orientated, there was no word about Louie or Archer transitioning to FXX. Always Sunny and The League should be around for awhile too, with Always Sunny getting a Season 10 pickup (it already had a Season 9 pickup) and The League getting Seasons 5 and 6 pickups.

In other FX news, the channel has renewed the always awesome Justified for a fifth season and the genius Louie for a fourth season. They also announced that Season 2 of The Americans would debut in January 2014.
