TRAILER: Can Brit Marling Successfully Infiltrate 'The East' Without Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard Finding Out?
I said this back in January when The East got its first trailer, and I'm going to say it again: Brit Marling is going to be a star one day. I don't know why she isn't yet. She's was stunning in both Another Earth and Sound of My Voice. If you haven't seen either of these films, finish reading this article and then go Netflix them. Especially Sound of My Voice, which is a haunting movie.
The East might be Marling's chance to finally break through, as it's starting to get the push that big-budget films usually do, and the fact that the movie also has Ellen Page and Alexander Skarsgard can't hurt. Marling and Zal Batmanglij, her usual writing partner, have returned to the cult well that they so expertly visited in Sound of My Voice for The East. This time, though, Marling is playing a character who infiltrates a cult, with Page and Skarsgard playing two of its members.
The East hits theaters on May 31, 2013. Check out the second trailer for the movie after the jump.
