TRAILER: It's Almost Time for Class to Start for Mike and Sully at 'Monsters University'

On July 12, 2013, we'll find out whether or not Pixar has the ability to bounce back from a very un-Pixarian string of movies. With Monsters University, the prequel to Monsters, Inc., hitting theaters that day, fans of the studio will discover if a return visit with Mike and Sully reignited the Pixar magic ... or if the movie followed Cars 2 and Brave's path and continued to snuff out the studio's once-bright flame.

By now, everyone knows where I stand on Monsters University. I want it to be a hit. Not just a box office hit — Pixar films don't have any problems being box office hits. No, I want Monsters University to be a critical hit. I want Pixar to remember the days when they delivered scenes like Carl and Ellie learning they couldn't have children in Up or Woody and the gang taking each others' hands as they faced the end in Toy Story 3. I want a Pixar film to make me feel something besides the urge to go out and buy a Mater lunchbox. Monsters, Inc. did that, and I'd like to believe that Monsters University has the same potential.

The latest trailer for Monsters University hit the Internet on Thursday. Check it out after the jump, and see for yourself if Pixar is back on the right path.
