Universal Studios has set all kinds of box office records this year with movies like Jurassic World and Furious 7, but the it looks like the studio is hungry for some Oscar glory too. You don't release a trailer like the latest one for Steve Jobs if you don't have the Academy Awards in your targets.



Between Steve Jobs and The Martian, October is shaping up to be heck of a month for Oscar contenders. Thanks to Michael Fassbender's performance and the script's unusual play-like structure, Steve Jobs should be a contender for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Steve Jobs stars Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen, Jeff Daniels, Michael Stuhlbarg and Katherine Waterston. Directed by Danny Boyle, the movie opens on Oct. 9.
