Marvel Schedules a Third Mystery Film ... Will July 2016 Bring 'Doctor Strange? Or 'Black Panther'?

A few weeks ago, we learned that Marvel was planning two unnamed movies to go along with Ant-Man in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While no titles were given, these two projects were given dates, with the studio claiming May 6, 2016, and May 5, 2017. On Monday, Marvel was at it again, calling dibs on July 8, 2016, for a third unnamed mystery film.

Like last time, fans are left to speculate just which characters will either return to the big screen or make their cinematic debut. We'll probably get an answer or two when Comic-Con kicks off at the end of July, but for now, speculation is rampant that Doctor Strange and Black Panther will be the stars of two of these Marvel offerings. As for the third movie, I keep hearing Thor 3, but that's gotta be pure guesswork at this point.

Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe was made up of six movies, with Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger leading to The Avengers. Phase Two will have five movies, with Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World debuting in 2013, Captain America: The Winter Solider and Guardians of the Galaxy hitting theaters in 2014, and The Avengers 2 capping the phase off in May 2015. Between Ant-Man (November 2015), the three untitled Marvel movies and The Avengers 3, Phase Three is also at five movies. Pretty impressive that Marvel Studios is working this far ahead while Warner Bros. doesn't have a single movie past Man of Steel announced.
