Jay Leno Is Headed to CNBC
Late-night talk show hosts, hide your shows. Jay Leno is coming back. The twice-former Tonight Show host is in talks with CNBC for a new primetime show that will focus on "Leno's longtime love of cars," The Hollywood Reporter wrote on Wednesday.
According to THR, CNN, A&E, History and the Tribune stations were all competing to bring Leno to their network, but the comedian will stick with NBC Entertainment, his longtime employer.
CNBC? That's the future of entertainment? CNN has wanted Leno since before he left The Tonight Show. Leno and CNN President Jeff Zucker share a love of screwing over Conan O'Brien, which makes them perfect for each other. Going with CNBC is kind of a shocker.
THR reports that Leno's CNBC doesn't have a release date yet but will be a regular series.
