GHOSTBUSTERS Reboot Adds Cecily Strong, Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams and Matt Walsh
Before director Paul Feig announced the four actresses who would lead his Ghostbusters reboot, Cecily Strong's name was in that mix. While her Saturday Night Live costars Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones along with former SNL castmember Kristen Wiig and frequent host Melissa McCarthy wound up getting those leads, it turns out Strong will still be part of the new Ghostbusters movie.
TheWrap reported on Monday that Strong had signed on for Ghostbusters as an "unconfirmed character." Hopefully it's the Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation With at a Party.
Strong will be joined by Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams and Matt Walsh. Ocean's Eleven star Garcia will play the mayor of New York City, The Wire star Williams will play a character named Watkins and Veep star Walsh will play a character named Rourke.
In addition to Strong, McKinnon, Jones, Wiig, McCarthy, Garcia, Williams and Walsh, Ghostbusters will also star Chris Hemsworth as the team's receptionist.
