'We Are the True Lords of the Sith. I Serve No One': 'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' Season 5 Has a Trailer
While the animated Star Wars: The Clone Wars TV series was quickly brushed off as a show for kids when it premiered in 2008, the show has matured into a dark and serious series. I began watching The Clone Wars last season, and was quickly impressed with how good the show is. More often than not, I find myself wishing that the story this show is telling was what we got instead of the prequel trilogy. Not even kidding.
At the end of Season 4, The Clone Wars revealed that Darth Maul, the fan-favorite villain in Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace, was actually alive, sustained by his hatred for Obi-Wan Kenobi. His brother Savage Opress (yup, Darth Maul has a brother) rescued Maul, and the two soon faced off against Kenobi. Season 4 ended with Maul telling Opress that they would soon have their revenge on everyone who had wronged them.
If the trailer for Star Wars: The Clone Wars is any indication, Darth Maul is ready to take revenge on just about everyone in the series.
