TRAILER: Can Harrison Ford Whip a Bunch Kids Into Alien-Fighting Shape in 'Ender's Game'?
I have to admit that I've never read Orson Scott Card's Ender's Game, but I know that the novel has a devoted fanbase who are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming film adaption. Will director Gavin Hood let those fans down? (Well, he did direct X-Men Origins: Wolverine, so there's that ...) The first trailer for Ender's Game hit the Internet on Tuesday, giving fans of the book and audiences new to the material their first look at the movie.
Ender's Game has pulled together quite the cast, with Oscar winners and nominees Harrison Ford, Ben Kingsley, Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, and Abigail Breslin all playing a part in the movie. In fact, Asa Butterfield, who plays Ender Wiggin himself, is the only main role filled out by someone who hasn't been nominated for an Oscar. If you loved Martin Scorcese's Hugo, though, you'll recognize Butterfield.
Ender's Game hits theaters on Nov. 1, 2013. Check out the first trailer for the movie after the jump. While you're watching it, ask yourself if Ford in space again is just a test run for what we'll see Han Solo doing in Star Wars: Episode VII.
