THE MARTIAN Gets an Earlier Release Date

After seeing the first trailer for The Martian this week, did you think that waiting until November to see the movie would be too long? Good news. The upcoming Matt Damon science-fiction film will now hit theaters on Oct. 2.

The Martian now follows in the space-suited footsteps of Gravity by releasing over the first weekend in October. Does that bode well for director Ridley Scott's next film?
