'In Your Face, Lance Armstrong': Matt Damon Leads Awesome First Trailer and Poster for THE MARTIAN

Wow. The Martian just shot to the top of my list of the movies I'm really looking forward. (Well, not the top top — that's reserved for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.) We got the first trailer for The Martian on Monday morning — and it's awesome.



The Martian stars Matt Damon as Mark Watney, an astronaut on the first crew of humans to land on Mars. When a massive storm hits their base site, the crew abandons the planet — and accidentally leaves Watney behind. Knowing that a rescue issue is a years away (if at all), Watney decides to "science the shit" out of Mars and find a way to survive.

Directed by Ridley Scott, The Martian boasts an impressive cast. In addition to Damon, the movie stars Jessica Chastain, Michael Pena, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Donald Glover, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sebastian Stan and Aksel Hennie. Expect The Martian to jump into the Oscar conversation when it opens on Nov. 25.
