TRAILER: When Giant Robots Fight Monsters in 'Pacific Rim,' It's 2,500 Tons of Awesome

I may have poked fun at Pacific Rim when the first trailer debuted months ago, but I'm sincerely rooting for this movie. When filmmakers like Guillermo Del Toro pour themselves into a movie that asks both studios and moviegoers to take a risk on them, we need to reward them. Unfortunately, Pacific Rim opens the same weekend as Adam Sandler's Grown Ups 2, a movie that involves no risk and wouldn't dare ask its audience to yearn for a better film.

If you're not familiar with the basic Pacific Rim story, the movie is set in a world where kaiju, giant monsters, comes through a dimensional rift in the Pacific Ocean and start attacking humanity. In response, we build jaegers, huge robots piloted by two humans mindmelded together, to fight the kaiju. In short, Pacific Rim looks awesome.
