Can JURASSIC WORLD Break THE AVENGERS' Second Weekend Record?
There's no question whether Jurassic World will win the upcoming weekend at the box office. After setting a new opening record last weekend with $208.8 million, the Jurassic Park sequel is a lock to repeat as champion. How big of a second weekend can Jurassic World have? Can it break The Avengers' historic second-weekend record?
The Avengers became the first movie to ever break $100 million over its second weekend, grossing $103 million in 2012. That number is over $25 million higher than the next best second weekend, Avengers: Age of Ultron's $77.7 million.
The Avengers dropped 50.3 percent between its first and second weekends. If Jurassic World can follow that performance, it'll gross $105 million. The movie is going to finish the weekend with $400 million grossed at the domestic box office.
