Natalie Portman in Talks to Join STEVE JOBS Movie

The Steve Jobs movie is alive — and it's adding new castmembers. Deadline reported on Wednesday that Natalie Portman is in talks to join the biopic.

Despite having a rough few weeks (losing Christian Bale, getting put into turnaround by Sony), the upcoming film based on Walter Isaacson's biography about Steve Jobs now has a new home at Universal Pictures and is moving ahead with production.

While some outlets have reported that Michael Fassbender is already locked in to play Jobs, it sounds like the X-Men: Days of Future Past actor hasn't signed a deal for the role just yet. We've also had reports of Seth Rogen playing Steve Wozniak and both Jessica Chastain and Scarlett Johansson being in talks for a female lead role. I'm guessing the role Chastain and Johansson were circling is the one Portman is now in talks for.

If both Portman and Fassbender join Steve Job, it'll be the second time they work together. The duo previously shot a movie with director Terrence Malick. Like most Malick films, that movie doesn't have a release date and there's a chance either Portman or Fassbender could get cut from the film.

Steve Jobs will be directed by Danny Boyle and will be written by Aaron Sorkin.
