Pixar Releases First Trailer and Poster for THE GOOD DINOSAUR

Things are looking good again for Pixar. With Inside Out hitting theaters in a few weeks and already receiving rave reviews, the studio will next turn its attention to The Good Dinosaur. The film was originally scheduled to be released in May 2014, but Pixar pushed it back to reimagine and rebuild The Good Dinosaur.

Yahoo! Movies released the first poster and trailer for The Good Dinosaur on Tuesday. The poster is simple and effective. The trailer is Pixar distilled down to its purest. Fantastic animation and humor delivered with a quirk. (Not a fart like most DreamWorks Animation movies.)

That trailer isn't big on plot but Yahoo! Movies got some inside news on The Good Dinosaur from director Pete Sohn.

The Good Dinosaur, which hits theaters on Nov. 25, tells the story of a young Apatosaurus named Arlo who gets separated from his pack and must find his way back home to his family. Along the way, he meets a young human that he names Spot, turning the film into a boy-and-his-dog story — one in which the dinosaur is the boy, and the human is the dog.

"Arlo himself is what we would have become, able to articulate and have certain emotions and connection to family," Sohn told Yahoo! Movies. "They’ve become us, essentially … I'm trying to treat Spot in a very kind of animalistic way, where he doesn't speak very much. He"s very feral."

The Good Dinosaur will star the voice talents of Lucas Neff, John Lithgow, Frances McDormand, Neil Patrick Harris, Judy Greer and Bill Hader. The movie opens on Nov. 25.
