OK, so besides the possibility of Maya Rudolph being dialed up a bit too high, what could be wrong with Sisters? It opens on Dec. 18. There's nothing else big opening that day, right? Let me check my movie calendar. Flipping to December ... Dec. 4 ... Dec. 11 ... Dec. 18 ... which is ... oh ... OH ... which is the day Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters.
Why would Universal send Sisters to die against the first new Star Wars movie in ten years? Sure, there's counter programming, but when The Force Awakens is expected to break opening weekend records, you just get your movies out of its way.
Well, hopefully Sisters enjoys its upcoming $22 opening weekend.
